Introduction to Sambahsa:
Lesson 19

As in English, « to be » has an irregular conjugation in Sambahsa. The first person singular is « som ». In Sambahsa, « from (inside) » is « ex » ; and « Irak » is pronounced i'rak. So, how would you say « I am from Iraq too » in Sambahsa (have in mind that « Iraq » is spelled « Irak » in Sambahsa). Here, the Sambahsa equivalent to « too » will have to be suffixed to the otherwise unstressed personal pronoun of the first person singular. Two otherwise unstressed particules can blend together to form a single stressed word.

I am from Iraq too.

Answer: Ioschi som ex Irak.
