We have free audio courses either created by us or given to us to host by third parties. These courses are inspired by teaching methodologies like the Socratic Method, Language Transfer, Pimsleur, or the Michel Thomas method.

Japanese Introduction to Japanese 4 hours Carl Kenner (unaffiliated to IKLL) A beginner-friendly Japanese course by Carl Kenner that teaches you to speak and write Japanese from scratch. You'll learn basic grammar, Hiragana, some Kanji, and use flashcards (included in the audio download) to reinforce symbols step by step.

We have also found some other free courses made in a very similar method that we think you should check out. We only limit this to free resources. Here they are:

  • Icelandic audio course by Alaric Hall - this is a free Icelandic course inspired by 'the Michel Thomas method' and created by Alaric. It is a great introduction to Icelandic - we recommend you download and check it out directly from the source!
  • Language Transfer courses - these are free language courses by Language Transfer, featuring courses in French, Swahili, Italian, Modern Greek, German, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish and some others. There is also a mobile app you could use to listen to the courses.
