This is a short course in Lithuanian, serving to introduce you to the very basics of participles (dalyviai, padalyviai, pusdalyviai). A shout out goes to Yorck for inspiring this course!
This course assumes you already have some understanding of how verbs work in Lithuanian. Check out the previous courses we have in Lithuanian if you don’t - that might help!
Let’s start with a simple verb. Or, rather, a simple noun leading to that verb.
How do you say?
And now we use that to derive "to think":
Excellent. Now make sure you know all the basic forms. What is "she thinks":
And what about "they thought" (the verb is the same as in "he/she thought")?
Alright then, so we have galvoti - galvoja - galvojo.
Just to make sure we have enough of a choice of words, let’s also get the three basic forms of to have.
So turėti, turi, turėjo.
And finally: to eat.
Okay, so we have valgyti - valgo - valgė.
